The ballerinas, dressed by @justballetuk, delighted the crowds, and with the skilled makeup artists, the emerging ballet company had even more fun. Choreographer

Ruth Mair Howard-Jones, an award winning choreographer, is re-writing the boundaries of Classical Ballet, making it relevant to audiences of today and the future. This emerging ballet company blends urban classical ballet and neo classical ballet, often incorporating classical and non-classical professional dancers of varying forms and physical abilities to create thought-provoking pieces. These performances invite the public to not only watch but also engage deeply with the art.

Dance serves as a platform for investigation, free speech, and expression; it is an experimentation, a desire, and an opportunity to ask questions and perhaps find answers. It is an exciting journey, and I hope to meet you along the way, engaging you alongside our talented dancers.

As Jones & Co., we are also available for school performances and workshops, as well as corporate events and showcases, offering creation in whatever form you require.

Performance-

Recently, the award-winning choreographer Ruth Mair Howard-Jones celebrated several exciting events, including the grand opening of the Charlotte Tilbury Covent Garden store and the Boux Avenue ballet core launch. The emerging ballet company showcased their impressive performance at the WIFC Launch and participated in the Women in Dance leadership event in LA. They also created innovative pieces for Pineapple dance studios and took part in the British Ballet Extravaganza Japan Tour. Additionally, a creation for GSK Health care was highlighted, alongside a protest to save our swans. Other notable works include the film 'Satisfaction Guaranteed' and the TV show 'Call My Agent,' along with YAGP winning choreography and the SOLO SEAL choreography. The Hamleys Christmas window reveal and the Pineapple Christmas lights further added to the festive spirit. In global film news, the Covid pandemic led to the creation of the groundbreaking #Sonocote with ballerina Mayara Magri of the Royal Ballet and many other dancers around the world. Recently, 'Inside Out' was created at Rambert Playground and performed at Rambert in November 2019, featuring a special guest appearance by the Royal Academy of Dance on the Kings Cross stage, with costumes dressed by Dans-ez UK. Additionally, there was a recent project, BYSTANDER for Children in Need, featuring Agnes Rosa Lamb, 12 years old, along with Kim Petts Mendez and Sophie Waring. Work is currently in progress on a film titled 'Breakfast with You' (working title) and 'TimeStop/Black Hole,' where you can find out how to support and be part of new creations. 'Does it Matter?' is also currently in research and development.

During this unprecedented time, as the world's theatres of all sizes remain dark while the global population strives to protect itself and heal, the planet is also undergoing a healing process. News reports indicate that air quality in China has improved significantly due to lockdowns that have drastically reduced industrial production. While we all need jobs to recover from this disaster, it underscores the importance of our responsibility to care for our planet and each other, emphasizing how vital connection is for everyone. Choreographer Ruth Mair Howard-Jones is inviting a host of diverse professionals from various parts of the globe to participate in a very special project aimed at spreading love, joy, and a united message. This initiative, titled Dance around the World, is a short, globally choreographed dance film created in collaboration with an emerging ballet company.

Dedicated to the 31 persons who lost their lives in the Kings Cross fire, this performance respects the connection we all share, whether for a fleeting moment or a lifetime. Created by award-winning choreographer Ruth Mair Howard-Jones, this piece was performed at Kings Cross Station on October 10, 2015, supported by an emerging ballet company on a pop-up stage.

Creations & Collaborations

Creating choreography has been a significant part of my life for as long as I can remember. My journey as an award-winning choreographer began professionally in 1992 when, as dance captain for a small touring company, I was tasked with choreographing new pieces to a brief. Since then, my path has been varied and multifaceted, leading me to the JONES & CO, where I collaborate with an emerging ballet company in a time-space reality that allows for creative freedom. With a strong classical foundation, I strive to create work that resonates and remains relevant today.
